Jeannine Stein

Jeannine Stein is an acquisitions editor for Quarry Books and Rockport Publishers, imprints that are part of The Quarto Group, the world’s leading international illustrated book publisher and packager. In her job she acquires content in the areas of art, craft, and design, working closely with authors to develop their ideas into books. Prior to this she was the editorial director of Cloth Paper Scissors magazine, a mixed-media art magazine that featured art journaling, painting, textile and fiber art, handmade books, jewelry, and more. She was a journalist for many years, working for the Los Angeles Times and other newspapers covering design, fashion, and lifestyle. Jeannine is the author of the books Re-Bound: Creating Handmade Books from Recycled and Repurposed Materials, Adventures in Bookbinding (both with Quarry Books), and the co-author (with her husband, photographer Mark Elson) of Battlefields of Honor: American Civil War Reenactors (Merrell Publishers). She lives in Boston with her husband and two clingy cats who are totally into macaroni and glitter.
