Art journaling is a Alyssa Griese’s non-judgemental playground

Living in Canada, with a BA in visual arts, Alyssa is a maker and lover of all things handmade. For Alyssa, embracing imperfections and chasing after “happy accidents” is the true magic of art journaling. Anything goes within the pages of her art journal and it has become an important place for her to process, to experiment and to play.

What is art journaling to you?

Art journaling is my place to play and experiment. It is a non-judgemental playground where I can bring my heart and release whatever is on my mind. It is very much about taking time for myself, slowing down and having fun with art.

What does community do for your art?

Community is such an important aspect for art. There is nothing better than connecting with people who just ‘get’ it. Sharing your love for supplies and techniques is such a wonderful boost of motivation and to be able to share your work with an encouraging community is such an amazing treasure.

Alyssa is one of the incredible teachers at Get Messy. She shares her art and her heart in the Season of Heart.

You’re invited to embrace the messy middle and join the best art journaling community on the internet.
