It is so great to be back on the Get Messy blog. I am going to share with you a little snippet of my art journaling process, which I share in great detail about in my new course Messy Pages. Today, we are going to make a page using acrylic blending, but we are going to take it a step further and create a page with depth, dimension and contrast.
Here’s what you will need:
- two contrasting acrylic paint colours
- your journal
- a sheet of paper
- your fingers and/or a paint brush
- thread for embellishing
- acrylic ink
- a pen
- baby wipes
Let’s get started.
So there you have it. A somewhat minimalist spread that packs some punch by layering up the blended sheet of paper on top of the blended background. I like the contrast of the dark to light, and the shadow created by the torn paper layered over the top.
