Ep 004: Find something deeper with art journaling

Messy Conversations is a series of interviews with amazing art journalers who share their favorite tools, tips and why they art journal. You’ll get an exclusive peek into their art journal pages and their process. We have a top notch line up of incredibly artists who will appear on the show each month. We hope that these interviews educate, encourage and inspire you to make something before it’s even over.

She uses a lot of words and writing in her pages and is a great inspiration to those who are worried about crossing over between mediums and has a great balance in her art + words. Tips for New Art Journalers

Try Everything.

Extraordinary Thoughts

I want this to be something [my daughter] can go back and read in a few years and it will be like my memoir.

I wanted something deeper. That’s how I got into Art Journaling.

I decorate my house like I decorate my journals.

Bible Journaling is another form of worship. Instead of just writing notes in the margin and trying to keep your Bible pristine, it works for creative people like me who want to paint in there and read a passage and elaborate on what spoke to me. It’s fun and different.

I make time for [art journaling]. I have to.

It’s your journal. It’s your place to try things and mess around and make mistakes and learn from those mistakes.

You’ll never find your style unless you try everything.

✨ Free class for creatives ✨

In How to Start Art Journaling, we’ll walk you through the art of art journaling, including how to start doing (🙌) and make your very first art journal page (even if you’ve never even opened an art journal before).
